People become a little lazy this time of year. THEY excuse themselves because of a holiday…but I don’t. After New Year’s, people will come back to life and will be motivated to take on 2011 like a bull in a china shop. THEY want me to understand that – because of a holiday, it ‘s okay for life to come to a halt.
Sadly, these folks are living in their own world. In my world, you don’t get a chance to stop. If you stop, and I see that you stopped, then you’re more than welcome to fire up your engines, but you’ll be doing so outside my world.
I don’t live in your world.
Never have. Never will.
I don’t understand losing more than a day or two to a holiday. I don’t understand allowing “created” dates on a calendar dictating one’s motivation. As common as it may be, it’s also absolutely ridiculous.
I actually had someone tell me that they were freaking out because their scrapbooks wouldn’t be ready for Christmas, and that other more important activities would simply have to wait until AFTER Christmas. My response to that remark floored the offender.
Seriously? Really?
I have no problem with you doing what you want. It’s your life…just as long as you understand that I don’t live MY LIFE tolerating that level of irrationality. You live your life…I’ll live mine.
Sooo…when some of you arrive back on the radar post holiday, expect the WELCOME mat to have been removed. If you have goals, then understand that your goals and responsibilities can’t withstand two to three week “delays” that are due to holiday parties. Sorry. No takers here. I’m not buying your laziness.
It’s very easy to fall into the trap of stupidity. It’s very easy to become THEY. Nevertheless, I have ZERO TOLERANCE for people who are so weak that they allow dates on a calendar to dictate their motivation. That doesn’t work for me.
IMPORTANT: Starting the week of December 20th, the Mind Virus E-Zine will arrive on Tuesday and our weekly blog post will be posted on Thursdays.
Have A GREAT Day!
